Meet The Team

Naked 7 Design is a website dedicated to all things interior design. Meet our team and learn more about us....
Denise Henson: Principal + Interior Designer
After working with interior design
firms Ogden Studio and Villa Designs in Martinez, California, Denise
decided her calling was interior design. The interaction and
satisfaction working with clients and improving their lifestyle was
what attracted her to the profession. She attended the Art Institute
of California, San Francisco, where she got her Bachelors of Science in
Interior Design. After she graduated, she worked at the Safeway
corporate offices as a Project Designer. Finding that she missed
having a more creative outlet and personal interaction with clients,
she left Safeway to pursue other projects. She founded N7D
and invited Grisel, Mike, David, Jen, John and James to join her in her
quest to bring interior design to the masses. Since starting N7D, the
team calls her “Little Boss D” since she is the shortest in the group!

Grisel Aguayo: Marketing Director + Interior Designer
Grisel is an explorer. Dance, travel
and adventure are her muses for her design work. She finds great
satisfaction in transforming a space that inspires but also speaks well
of the client. Turning a client’s dream in to reality is what
motivates her the most. Our nickname for her is Gris but when we are
feeling especially feisty, we like to call her our “Go Getter”. Grisel
graduated from The Art Institute of California, San Francisco, with a
Bachelors of Science in Interior Design. Her employment history
includes such firms as Kendall Wilkinson Design (but we kidnapped Gris
and now she works for us). As the Marketing Director, Grisel is in charge of getting the N7D information out to the masses. If you have heard about N7D, it is most likely thanks to her good work.

Michael Verzosa: Creative Director + Purchasing Director
Our wiseguy of the team, Mike, has always had unbelievable energy which
is why he is best suited as our Creative Director. Mike was born in
the Philippines and moved to the U.S. when he was 14 years old. His
cultural heritage drives him in all he does. He’s much like a modern
day Renaissance man, having been in the Navy, being a dental
technician, a self-taught chef, wedding coordinator, handyman, actor …
you name a job and he’s probably done it. His design style is grand
and flashy, yet classy and subtle. He always has a design idea or two, and he will make sure you hear it LOL. Mike has recently graduated from The Art Institute of California, San Francisco, with a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design.
His work history includes such firms as Puccini Group.

Jennifer: Blog Writer + Interior Designer
Jen was born near Chicago, but was
raised with her younger sister in beautiful and smoggy Southern
California. She spent her youth studying all forms of visual art at
private school, and decided to earn her first Bachelors of Art in Fine
Art from the University of California Santa Cruz. She decided to go
back to school for a second time to earn a Bachelors of Science in
Interior Design from the Art Institute of California, San Francisco.
She now works for the N7D by contributing blogs, and
helping out with designs for our clients. While currently in the
process of moving to Reno with her dog Iggy and boyfriend Jordan, Jen
loves to laugh and not take life too seriously. Her favorite color is
green, and loves all things “green” (Eco-conscious). But her ultimate
favorite things are still all things kitschy like, flamingos,
shamrocks, pirates, troll dolls, disco balls, and polka dots. Jen’s
experience includes working at The Puccini Group and Rezek Equipment.
She believes that good space planning will save us all.

James Matthew: Blog Writer + Interior Designer
James is one of the most relaxed
guys on the team, enjoying Cervezas with friends and family during his
off time, and walking on the beach. When he started out on his
education, he never knew his life would take him to design school.
James never intended to be a design student but it had always intrigued
him. Now, he is exploring the endless possibilities of where design can
take him. His design philosophy varies with the mood of the project,
but his priority is to keep the client’s needs in mind. He says,
“During the creative process I like to push the parameters and see what
kind of new concept lies within the project, avenues that might not
have been considered.” James is currently attending The Art Institute
of California, San Francisco, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in
Interior Design.

John Perez: Blog Writer + Interior Designer
John’s passion for design is the
need to remedy bad design. He believes bad design exists everywhere,
whatever form it takes (beautiful, interesting, or just plain ugly), as
long as it’s not functional is an inconvenience to everyone.
Understanding what makes or breaks a design is something he learns
everyday, along with whatever new product is being designed and
produced. John says, “What moves me is appreciating how the simplest
form and thought in design can have the biggest impact for the user.”
John is currently attending The Art Institute of California, San
Francisco, where he will be receiving his Bachelors of Science in
Interior Design. Fun fact: he is James’s younger twin brother! Some
people can’t tell them apart but one way to tell is by their
arm tattoos. Grisel still gets mixed up from time to time.

David Richardson: Web Administrator + Interior Designer
As an interior designer, David
believes it is his responsibility to produce designs that have a balance of
function and aesthetics for each client's lifestyle. Every person is different, so no two design can be exactly the same. David says, “Once my designs have accomplished these things, I
know that I have done my job.” As the N7D Web Administrator, he is in charge of designing and maintaining the entire website. Phew… That is no
small task. David graduated from The Art Institute
of California, San Francisco, with a Bachelors of Science in Interior
Design. Fun facts: David’s home state is Missouri and he has two
adorable dogs, Brit Brit and Sweet Pea (which Denise wants to adopt as
N7D’s mascots… that is yet to be determined).
Marty Burnett: I.T. Adviser
Marty is one of the N7D team’s good
friends, helping us out here and there when we get stuck on our
blogging mishaps. He’s very knowledgeable on tech subjects, but also on
how to run a small business. He runs the business and website, TheDawgLife.com, which is an up and coming dog blog and pet boutique. Please visit his site! You can see the famous Brit Brit and Sweet Pea on video.
