Ikea is coming out with a new line of fabric that I will definitely buy once it makes it to my Emeryville Ikea!  It will be called the "Charlotta" collection.  Out of things I love Ikea and Japanese culture are two of them.  Ooooh, I know I'm in trouble.  The fabric prints will mix "anime" styled characters with Scandinavian scenes or backgrounds.  My first one to snag will be the 'Godzilla destroying famous Scandinavian buildings'.  Here's the original link by the wonderful bloggers of Japanator: http://www.japanator.com/ikea-manga-sheets-will-bring-you-swedish-mochi-balls-13439.phtml#comments

Just warning you that this is a rant.

I love viewing and critiquing model homes.  When I was a kid, I remember my parents would take me along just to look and I'd run up to the bed rooms, picking the one I'd call my own.  If you understand my plight it's great because: there's no clutter, no mess, no smells, it looks fabulous (when done by a good designer) and nothing is out of place.  It's my heaven.  But it's SO perfect, it irks me.  No satisfying the beast, really.  I love 'em and hate 'em.  I understand that the whole point is to really make the place sell but I can't help but know the design tricks that these model homes are using on me.  Here are some of my reasons in order of #1 irk being the highest:

Winter is my favorite season because I get to decorate the house with a tree, lights and ornaments -  so festive!  The only thing is I can't buy too many decorations this year and use what I have which is fine because its better for the environment.  Lately (since I just got engaged ^_^) I've been looking at creative DIY decor for tables and what not.  One of which I'm really in love with - a red spray painted branch with little yellow birds.  Stunning on a table with white dishes and a white table cloth.  It looks really great with the red trimmed cloth napkins and the tint of the yellow from the wine help enhance the simplicity of the center piece.

Get ready to EAT your pillows

I personally LOVE pillows and believe you can never have too many.  They are the perfect accessory that can easily dress up furniture.  But at times it can get hard to find unique and stylish pillows.  Many of the stores carry the same old thing and nothing that is too interesting.  But there is no longer a worry because EAT Home Accessories can provide you with some VERY interesting pillows and other home accessories.
